    Jump, Fool!

"World on edge" in primary black and white. The ON can become OZ. Yet again the helpful 'The Economist' Illuminates the world situation. We are on the brink of making the choice of how we enter the land of OZ (Kosmic Konsciousness). How will humanity choose to cross the abyss (let go of attachment to thought and form)?

A lovely scarlet background greets our eyes while a silhouette of what symbolizes humanity pears over the edge of the Abyss (The Dark Knight of the Soul).
I remember Bill Hick's joking about how the pioneering hedonist Keith Richards discovered that going over the edge wasn't a problem as there's this undiscovered ledge just waiting to catch you.
In the same fashion Indiana Jones had to take a leap of faith in order to reach the Holy Grail or Kosmic Konsciousness.
The Fool (sporting octagram stars on his dress) accomplishes this through naivety or perhaps bravery..

The leap into the unknown is the dissolving of the fictitious identity to reveal that which can't be put into words. It can't be put into words but it can be experienced. In fact it is all you have ever experienced. We are NOW realizing this, what cant be put into words or thoughts, yet is growing right here where we are writing/reading, is Who We really are. You cant think it or say it but you are it, dig? It is no-thing, no-where or no-when yet its is closer to you then any-thing. Its only how easy it is to realize this that keeps you away.
A Few Shots to Shaman teaches how The Fool is Hermes and the Green Man in his wonderful post The Hounds Of Hermes. Note how Crowley's Thoth deck Fool depicts him as Green while a G8tor/Dragon lurks below. Manly P. Hall's Hermes is seen above the vanquished Typhon/Dragon with the dog, one of Hermes' primary associates, depicted below the caduceus. The Dragon takes the place of the abyss in this symbol system.
As we learned in Scarlet Dragon this beast is the Galactic Center/Galactic Anticancer Axis or 911-2012 Ascension period.
2012 is the year of the Dragon in Chinese astrology.
Note the forked tail of the Hermes Dragon ending in arrows, the symbol of the Sagittarius archer.
Hall tells us that the Pharaohs Uraeus , the Cobra emanating from his third eye chakra, is the symbol of Scorpio.
If we take the foot atop the Dragon as equivalent to Ophiuchus' (formerly referred to as Serpentarius), the 'serpent-holder', similarly placed appendage we now have all the markers of Galactic Center (GC)/Dragon present and accounted for in Hall's image (from the plates section of "The Secret Teaching of All Ages").
Biting the leg of our Foolish Green Man on Crowley's 'Emerald Tablets' (Tarot) is the Tiger. The Tiger is the Chinese Animal of 2010, "The Year We Make Contact". Again see Scarlet Dragon for 2010-2012 as fractals of each other forming the TwentyTwen rapid repeat of the Totality.
Ace as Aleph, first letter of the Hebrew alphabet and equivelent of the first Tarot Card or The Fool. Again see The Hounds Of Hermes. Note the dog/God/Sirius/K9/119/911...

JC (thus resonating Jesus and John Conner) Jim Carrey becomes The Fool in charachter and symbolisms through "Ace Venture".
In the second film he even stands above the G8tor (gate-tor), the Dragon of GC.
Jim Carrey becomes the Green Man as The Riddler in "Batman Forever", Loki in "The Mask" and "The Grinch".
Another weird recurring pattern with JC is his consistent interaction with the moon. See post Look to La Luna and films "Man on The Moon", "Bruce Almighty", "Dumb and Dumber" plus "The Truman Show".
Yet, this Jim Carrey as Thoth-Hermes explains that business if we note that Thoth is a Moon God!
Note the blue, Morton Mouse, Horton's companion. I loved this movie, great message.

This sync web further Illuminates the universes choice of Carrey as anthropomorphic Elephant in 2008's "Dr Seuss' Horton Hears a Who!" (nice HH there). Ganesh (a god of wit and humor), the anthropomorphic Elephant Hindu deity, is the equivalent of Thoth-Hermes.

Although he is known by many other attributes, Ganesha's elephant head makes him easy to identify.[9] Ganesha is widely revered as the Remover of Obstacles[10] and more generally as Lord of Beginnings and Lord of Obstacles (Vighnesha, Vighneshvara),[11] patron of arts and sciences, and the deva of intellect and wisdom.

Ganesha is often shown riding on or attended by a mouse or rat.
    Wikipedia Ganesh
2008, the year of the Rat.

Morton the Blue mouse perfectly echoes Ganeshs' mouse/rat.
Vlad the Vulture connecting Horton back to "The Fool" Tarot

In the medieval pack the title of the card is Le Mat...

If one assumes that the Tarot is of Egyptian origin, one may suppose that Mat (this card being the key card of the whole pack) really stands for Maut, the vulture goddess, who is an earlier and more sublime modification of the idea of Nuith than Isis.
Aleister Crowley "The Book of Thoth"
Ganesh/Horton like The Fool, Mona Lisa and Buddha smile, not because they know the ultimate secret. It can not be known. They smile because they are the ultimate secret, just as We are.
This year (08) certainly heavily resonates The Fool through "Horton Hears a Who" and "The Dark Knight". Heath Ledger's dramatic transition accentuating his amazing performance as The Joker/The Fool. The year of the mankind poised over the Abyss and facing the collective Dark Knight of the Soul.
Do we peer over the edge with our tails between our legs or do we look up, smile and leap, while winking back at the Stars?
    (WOW/MOM Jake! Why so serious?)

funny, i was listening to a terence mckenna lecture yesterday in which, at a point, he said "jump into the abyss and discover it's a feathered bed" which was stuck in my head the rest of the day.

What do you make of the Hermes/Mercury/Moon ending up twins?

    http://tinyurl.com/3jnnlc

    Let me know, please? ;)

In hindu-ism the Moon is "Somanath" "Lord of Soma," a male figure.

    Mercury and Moon:
According to the Hindu scriptures Mercury is the son of the Moon.

    Is Winnipeg near Saccatchawan?

I am giggling to see Terence mentioned here in the comments, since I was lucky enough to meet Dennis McKenna this weekend! What I wanted to mention here was something I learned from Carlo Hawk Walker during the festival: Chief Sitting Bull's Pipe was brought into this World by Frank Fool's Crow :)

Do you think the sacred fool could be considered by some as naive?

    The Moon and Mercury Twins?

Never thought about it, will let it sync in...

    Naive/Fool
    I suppose its semantics.
The Fool isn't really the Fool or Naive. He has peered behind the veil and understands how life is many shadows cast from one source.
Instead of taking on the persona of 'one who knows' like a guru or teacher he takes the mantle of 'one who doesn't know'.
In a sense this is more honest as an individual who has peered behind the veil but still maintains individual identity is perhaps willfully ignorant.
The Fool is probably only such very briefly as knowing its a contradiction to even be The Fool must be the tinnies slither away from being or becoming whole again.
Its one of the polarities the new stage of consciousness I imagine. Knowing and finding it silly and laughable or knowing and finding it sacred.
Both are intimately associated and most awakening into Konsciousness probably experience both. I feel both a sense of the total absurd ridiculousness and profound awe of the Totality.
Do some think The Sacred Fool naive? Probably only the naive.

Also the EDGE isn't far off from the LEDGE, and both link to BRINKs and BRINKS-MAT made a habit of getting 'robbed'.

The Fool thread links - with the Market taking little notice of the underlying trends
    - with [possibly] Mr.Ledger not recognising the signs that led to his 'change'

Regarding it as Aleph - Carlo Suares describes Aleph as life/death-life/death thus perhaps reiterating your comment ' the fool being such only briefly'

    Cheers

WOW, hah great stuff man, he resonates with Harpocrates in the fool symnolism to me. from the book of Thoth-

"He is shown by certain schools of thought as standing; he is standing upon the crocodiles of the Nile"

Harpocrates is (in one sense) the symbol of the Dawn on the Nile, and of the phsiological phenomenon which accompanies the act of waking. One sees, at the other end of the octave of thought, the connection of this symbol with the succession to the royal power described above."

"It is dawn- the hint of light about to come, but not by any means that light; he has a lock of black hair curling around his ear, and that is the influence of the Highest descending upon the Brahmarandra Chakra. The ear is the vehicle of Akasha, Spirit."

" Note that ‘Fool’ is derived from ‘follis’, a wind-bag. Even etymology gives the attribution to Air. Also, to puff out the cheeks is a gesture implying readiness to create, in the sign-language of Naples."

    http://www.rahoorkhuit.net/library/thoth/trumps/book/fool.html

the curl of hair resonates with me, as well as the standing on two crocodiles, and the air(thought) symbolism. this is also the

Hope this helps bring more to light, be well jake

Wow Mom! ArK K! Thinking...thinking...thinking... about arcs, arches, ark, and so on and so forth. The Ark makes me think of Noah which can become Zoah and eventually Oz ah! Eurekka! The Zoah then makes me think of the great canopy(cazopy) that existed above the Earth before the great flood. Canopy hmmm?
